How To Clean A Browning .22 Long Rifle

I spoke to Browning in Arnold, MO today. I told them that subsequently removing the Take-Down Spiral and opening the Lever, I can't separate the Stock and Action from the Receiver on my Grade 1 BL-22 to give information technology a thorough cleaning. Immediately the Service Technician told me not to take the burglarize apart for any reason. He stated I should but clean the bore, and then spray an aerosol cleaner internally, clean with a castor, peradventure another spray, and so wipe the exterior with a low-cal gun oil and that's all that's needed. Basically, every bit the maintenance is described in the possessor's manual.
Seems like a lot of dirt would exist left behind. Is that the way the rest of you BL-22 owners maintain your rifles?

I rarely clean my 22lr rifles.
Afterwards cleaning I do use compressed air to rid of any loose debris left behind
a little more detail on your cleaning procedure would be helpful

Offset off I think more barrels are ruined by poor cleaning techniques than from not being cleaned.
A quality cleaning rod is coin well spent and must get from breech to muzzle
Another tip is I accept become fond of the Remington squeegee!
Some other thing....gonna become skinned on this one.....anal cleaning / barrel intermission in is money and time wasted unless yous take a serious benchrest rifle

Some guys follow a shoot then clean procedure that they believe will make any barrel Into a benchrest contender. Make clean barrel with 21 strokes, shoot one shot , echo for 8 times then 3 shots, 17 passes with cleaning rod... ect
Many accept a majic formula of cleaning and shots, kind of like making the sign of the cross before stepping into the batters box

The bulk of the time, they say that to embrace their butt. The average joe has no inkling how to feild strip a gun. so they youtube information technology and, boom, they are a pro afterward watching information technology. So that'south why they say don't take stuff apart.....
Browning says you lot should accept your dirty gun to a gun smith to have information technology cleaned, I'm non paying a smith $fifty bucks or then to do it,when I can practice information technology myself.
Been doing my own cleaning for the terminal 65 years!
I know that this is an old thread, but in instance anyone ever runs across information technology I volition give my two cents on the OP question.
Best mode to make clean with spray without disassembly is Break Cleaner (Non Chlorinated simply. Has to be Non Chlorinated) Endeavor to continue it off the stock. Merely spray the action innards down and let dry. It will clean it as good as new.
